Acme Building Materials began in 1953 by Donald and Leona Skelly on the East side of Flint.  In the early years, Don and Leona both worked hard in the office during the day selling roofing products.  Once the office closed, the work was not done.  Leona would stay and do accounting paperwork, while Don would make all the roofing deliveries at night...
